What I love most about your work is your use of color and line. You use many different colors and do not seem to restrict your color pallet which I love! The different stokes you use in you drawings add great detail. I love the textures you are able to render! I feel like I can touch everything and it is going to feel how I expect it to! Soft, rough, silky! You’re amazing!

I really enjoy your comic’s characters!! They are so adorable and are so nicely realized. I can tell you really thought about how to make unique dragon and bird designs. And that unicorn is amazing!! I just love their color and form. So pretty! I am excited to see what happens next in the story as well. You’ve done a good job at setting up the history of your world. I am so ready to see the adventure Azul and Tigfeather are gonna get into!!

Keep up the hard work and being creative!

Love,

Dear Kayla Miller,

I’m craving a fruit punch after reading…

You have created a crazily creative origin story for your character Creep! It is so random and fantastical! Riley just seems to try his best to be normal and it is such a great contrast to his alter ego, fruit punch perv! I love how girl crazy and inappropriate Creep is… I feel like I would punch him if I met him. Yet, it is a funny personality for a hero to have and leads to great awkward situations!

I admire your unique style, especially the way you draw noses! Your art immediately drawed me in and enticed me to read. Oh! And the gifs are the best part! It really sets your work apart from other webcomics. It is artistically and technically complex. It adds so much action and flavor!! I love it!!!!!

Please, keep up the hard work and being creative!

Dear Katie O’Neill,

A webcomic I think everyone should read is…

Princess Princess is an amazing story about female strength. You have done a great job creating characters who have different and inspiring ways of taking control of their destiny. I feel aggravated when I see young girls that think they must follow certain stereotypes or expectations. It is so spectacular to know that Princess Princess exists to show them that it is okay to be different.

Your character design and backgrounds are well thought out and lovely. It is great to see such a diverse cast of characters. I think it so so important to represent different genders, personalities, shapes, sizes, colors, sexuality, etc in comics. Especially comics for young kids. Great job doing that! I see myself in your characters and I know some other people will too and understand that it is okay to be yourself. I’m not sure if I’m more of a admirable Amira or sweet Sadie…maybe both! Either way, I am inspired by these two wonderful ladies and am glad to be reminded that it’s okay to be different than the expected.

Please, keep up the good work and being creating.

Dear Alec Longstreth,

It was super nice to read…

I am always on the hunt for a webcomic FOR KIDS to read to my elementary art students. So when yours was recommended to me, I just had to check it out! And I love it! You have really done a great job creating relatable and diverse characters that children can understand and empathize with. R.J. Jr is a punny boy who I know my kids will both love and happily eye-roll at. Can you do that happily? I know I was while reading Isle of Elsi! In a “Oh, that R.J. Jr!” type of way.

I am so excited to share this comic with my students. My kids really don’t have access to many comics and the fact that your work is out there for free for them to read is super amazing! I know they are going to love following your story and it will inspire them to make comics of their own! Thank you so much for the work you do. I hope R.J. Jr doesn’t get eaten!

Please, keep up the hard work and being creative!

Dear Kai,

Instagram is a great place to read webcomics like…

 Kaicomics!

Thank you so much for making such a personal and transgender positive comic! I know you drawing and sharing your story helps so many others feel understood and validated. I am not transgender, but your comic does help me better understand the feelings and thoughts of a ftm transgender person. That is an amazing thing! You are spreading knowledge and love and awesomeness!

No matter your age, you are an great artist! Your style is energetic and adorable! You have accomplished so much that many people your age have not! You should be super proud (not to sound condescending, really!) Your comic humorously recounts your experiences as a ftm transgender artist and I love seeing your unique perspective. There are so many funny comics on instagram, but yours is truly sharing something real and personal. I really appreciate your honesty and passion. Let me know if there is anyway I can support you and be a better ally to people who are transgender.

Keep up the hard work and being creative!

Dear Kinoko Evans,

I feel wonderful after reading…

Your little, adorable Magical Rabbit Character comic is by far the cutest Magical Rabbit Character comic that I have ever read. I really connected with Magi right away because I wish I was a cute magical bunny and she actually is one. I really like the child-like wonder and adventure your work invokes. Your art is just full of joy and expressive marks and fun!

I am a super big fan of magical comics and magic and sparkles. So, it was obvious when I saw your art that I was going to fall in love. Yet, honestly it is also the way you draw and communicate things in a visual way that I really just L-U-V! Your lines are so thick and your character’s faces are full of emotion and their surroundings are full of life! You do a great job of keeping your comic vibrant and moving, it’s exciting! And you don’t use color!! Which I always love a good black and white comic. I’m into it. Great work!

Please, keep up the hard work and being creative!

Dear Joshua Wright,

The most sleepest dragon comic award goes to…

Wyrm is the most loveable online dragon I’ve ever met! I really enjoy his ” I don’t get a f@&%” attitude. His blatant disregard for the village folk in your story is hilarious and empowering. You go Wyrm! You do you! Don’t let those villagers get you down! ” Dragon rool, peasants fools.”

Slack Wyrm is amazingly colored and drawn. Your color choices are bright and logical. It’s like you picked the best combinations from the color wheel to go together and make out. Also, your jokes and plot just give your comic an overall tone of ” I do what I want!” And I love it! Your twist on the fairytale, medieval dragon tale is fantastic and unique!

Please, keep up the hard work and being creative!
