Dear Kyle Latino,

I’ve been inspired to grow a beard by…

Image result for she dwarf comic

Your comic is so charming and hilarious! I really love all the colorful characters and am excited to see more of the adventure as it comes out. My favorite characters are for sure She-Dwarf and Hack! When She-Dwarf tore off Hack’s beard?! …that was awesome!!! The action was so clear and cleverly drawn. You’ve really taken the time to create a visually interesting tale.

And I love stories with their own lore! I can not wait to learn more about yours. Will She-Dwarf make it to Dammerung?! It reminds me of an epic DnD adventure! I LOVE IT! Also, I mean, the character expressions are amazing! Hack cracks me up with his detailed and extreme reactions! You’ve done a great job making all your characters distinct and memorable. Oh, and the colors POP they are so bright and beautiful! Makes your comic look really crisp and exciting! GREAT JOB!!!!!! I can not wait to read more!

Keep up the hard work and being creative!

Dear Natalie Riess,

I felt fierce while reading…

Image result for snarlbear

Daisy Snarlbear is the buffest babe in webcomics! I LOVE IT! You have done a great job portraying the complexity of strength and power in your comic. I really enjoyed watching Snarl’s story unfold as she dealt with the growing fear of possibly  becoming a monster! I felt genuine worry for Snarl and also Cassiopeia that they would be overcome with power and never be able to return to their normal selves. The story took many twists and turns that I didn’t expect.  In the end,  it was sweet and a great tale about the strength of one’s will. Or at least that’s what I think!

Visually, Snarlbear is a flippin’ joy! No color unused, no sparkle out of place! I am overjoyed by your painterly use of digital media throughout the comic and watercolor on the chapter covers!!! SO BEAUTIFUL!!!! And I love all the cute characters juxtaposed with the terribly fearsome monsters. All your creatures are nicely designed and colored beautifully!  All your settings are mystical and interesting! I am so curious as to what the whole Rainbow Dimension looks like! Maybe I’ll imagine it for myself…-thinks- yep amazing! You have created the feeling of a rich and wide world, even though Snarl only visited a few places.

I really enjoyed Snarlbear beginning to end. I look forward to seeing more projects from you and possibly another webcomic? Whatever  you do I am sure it will be awesome, colorful, and full of spunk!

Keep up the hard work and being creative!

Love,

The Webcomic Whisperer

Dear Amy Stoddard,

It’s really nice to read…

fsr-200x100

Your comic really just makes me feel at peace while reading it. It’s like all my worries are being filtered through Georgia and her friends. All I am left with is a smile as I read. It is really nice to watch Georgia work through her depression. I have depression, anxiety, and a bit of a mood disorder. Not to have you read my laundry list of mental illness (I’ve got it in check! no worries!) , but I just say it to stress that I can really empathize with Georgia. As I’m sure many people can.

Although Georgia and I differ from how depression effects us and its causes, it is nice to have a character I can look to and say “me too.”  I feel like I’ve gotten off track with my dreams, made excuses, felt lazy, and felt helpless. To see Georgia’s friends reach out to her and support her reminds me of those who support me. To see her push her toxic aunt out of her life reminds me that it’s good not to give in to toxic people in my life as well. To see Georgia celebrating her little successes really makes me smile. Reminds me I need to celebrate mine too.

So, thank you. For your wonderful story and writing. For portraying depression as subtle, complex, and something that takes time to heal. It validates my experiences in a way. Especially as an artist! Just like Georgia I have felt discouraged to follow my comic art dreams! NO MORE! I’ve been working for a bit on comics actually, but someday maybe I can go full time. ANYWAYS, speaking of art, yours is amazing!!! I love the expressiveness of your characters. The faces are great and so funny at times! The backgrounds and little details you draw are  just lovely. Your comic is super visually appealing and makes my heart all warm and fuzzy. AND THE COLORS! I love your use of color on the chapter covers. So MUCH!

Reading back over this letter, I realize it is a little more about me than your comic…sorry for that. I guess it is just because your comic is a story about me, about someone with depression or anyone who experiences sadness. It’s a story for/about mental illness. It really resonated with me. Thank you so much for that! I can not wait to read more.

Keep up the hard work and being creative!

Dear Cryoclaire and Lo Black,

I am so tripping on…

Image result for drugs and wires

You have put a lot of thought into the environment, social setting, and political landscape of Drugs and Wires.  I also read Dreamspace and I love it!!! I am a big fan of the cyberpunk aesthetic and dark humor! Cryoclaire’s use of color and visualization of trippy scenes is amazing… and a little horrific. I just really enjoy the creative take on how you depict Dan’s self-inflicted misery. Great work!

I am really liking Lo Black’s writing as well! I like how the focus is on Dan/ Lin and the over-all plot is coming together in bits and pieces. Like, every time I think Dan is going to get better or at least be “okay” and there is a little hope…well that is taken away and covered in more mystery about what this “worm” really is or something else bad. I can not wait to read more and learn more about Dan and Lin and the crazy world they inhabit.

Keep up the hard work and being creative!

Dear Pascalle Lepas,

There is a lot of weird and crazy stuff happening in…

And I am loving it! Your story is really great because the characters feel real and the situations are fantastical!! I love the classic protagonist (Oscar Wilde) coming to a town he doesn’t know and getting more that he bargained for.  I really love all the complicated and interesting characters Oscar meets as well.  Sylvia Snyder is my favorite so far! She is so sweet and a great companion to Oscar. I’m sure she makes him feel a little at ease in such a bizarre town! Yet, I have been worried about her lately…

I am so giddy about the classical literature and Native American mythology references you make in this comic! They aren’t over done and you put a unique twist to them. And I really enjoy the imagery of the action scenes you create and how you move the story along through your drawings. You show more sometimes rather than tell. I think that takes great skill and is amazing. I really enjoy your art style as well. AND the writing is great!!

I can not wait to see more with the werewolf buddy and the blue rose witch! And I can not wait to see what mysterious and horrific things happen next!

Keep up the hard work and being creative!

Dear Nicole Mannino,

I get super embarrassed while reading…

Image result for this is not fiction comic

You have created the most adorable and blush-worthy romance on the internet!! I mean seriously all the flirty gushy lovely teasing is driving me crazy!!! And Julian is such a sweet character and it has been so nice watching his development throughout the story. He is getting much more brave! It is great to see how his friends have influenced him and he them. Mostly for the better! Mostly…

BY THE WAY, Landon MAKES ME SO MAD!!! but in a cute way! He never takes care of himself and I know I would be a total Julian and end up taking care of him if Landon was in my life! -sigh- I love seeing Julian and Landon interact though. They are so cute and happy! I can not wait to see what happens next with them! And with the rest of the cast of course!

Also, your art is amazing and I love it! Your character’s outfits are cute, their faces are cute, the setting is cute, etc! It’s all cute, but it’s also very well done. Your comic has a lot of detail and style. My favorite detail is your mixed media chapter covers! I love how you mix photographs with cut drawings!! It’s just a nice touch!

I can not wait to read more as the story goes on!! I can really relate to Julian’s shyness in regards to relationships so it’s nice to have a character I can see myself in!

Keep up the hard work and being creative!

Dear Constanza Yovaniniz,

I felt all warm and bubbly inside while reading…

MY COMPOSER! Your comic is so cute and adorable and fantastic and wonderful! Wow wow wow! My most favorite thing about your comic is the character Rho. Mostly because he is just such a hyper fun guy and I think I would also like Dog & Fries. I also really love love Aleph!! I want to be their friend. Your whole cast is lovely and such a great friend family!

I think you did a wonderful job writing Sigma as a character who is blind. I learned a lot about blind accommodations and braille while reading. I also really enjoy seeing his relationship with Xi develop. It is so sweet and romantic to see a couple get more serious and move in together! AHHH! I’m dying it is so cute and they are so cute together. RHO GIVE BACK THE KEYS!!!

Your art and colors are super crisp as well! You have done a great job designing and writing adorable characters readers can relate to. Your whole cast is so lovable and complex! I can not wait to read more and more until your comic eventually ends! Then, I can not wait to read your new project! There is so much more I could write. You are truly a fantastic story teller and artist!

Keep up the hard work and being creative!

Love,
