Dear Elliwiny and Sincerely,

Merry Christmas! Santa left me a present and it’s …

Your webcomic is so suspenseful and packed with flavor it is ridiculous! You have a wonderful cast of characters and a story that is well crafted/ complex. I really love how fast paced the plot moves, seeing all the different characters interact, and slowly discovering what is going on! Like, what the heck is going on?! Again, your cast of characters is amazing and they all have rich personalities. I love the Baron and watching him interact with the others. It’s super creepy…super…creepy… O_O

Vigi has to be my favorite character though, and I just love her design! All the characters/ aliens have been designed really well! I love how different they are but not over thought or purposefully over complex. I like your drawing style as well! It’s very clean and looks well practiced. The action scene feel fluid and not stiff at all. Great job!! And the writing has helped create a rich world that I can not wait to see more of. You two seem like an awesome team!! Opportunities is a great comic you should be super proud of.

I can not wait to see what happens next with Jack busting in and wrecking shiz. I can not wait to see what happens with Vigi. I can not wait for more of Opportunities!!

Keep up the hard work and being creative!

Which is an amazingly hilarious feminist comic set in a world where all men are extinct. It’s great.

I love Woman World so much that I asked Aminder Dhaliwal to do a little email interview with me! And she did! Which is awesome and I am so thankful she took the time to answer my questions!

So, here is the interview:

Me: “Thank you so much for taking the time to answer some of my questions! I have been very inspired by your comic on Instagram called “Woman World” and wanted to get to know you better!

Q1: Tell me about yourself! Your background and a bit about the journey to becoming YOU.”

Aminder: “I went to Sheridan College (Oakville, Canada) for Animation. I knew I wanted to work in animation and the Sheridan curriculum allowed me to make a few student films. Students were also required to do internships for credits. In my senior year, Nickelodeon recruiters came to visit and advertise their production internships. I applied and after a few interviews I got the spot. I went over to Nickelodeon for the summer of 2011. I showed my student films around eventually (it was on the final day of my internship) got asked to take a storyboard test for an upcoming artist position. I flew back to Canada, took the test, sent it back and got the job. I moved out to LA in the fall of 2011 and stayed at Nickelodeon for 5ish years.  I learned so much at Nickelodeon. Nick has a great studio culture. I worked on Fairly Odd Parents, Robot and Monster, Sanjay and Craig and a new show coming out in 2018 as well as many mini projects in between. After that I moved over to Cartoon Network and have been directing on a new project for the last several months. Although I’m happy to have worked on popular shows, I’m happiest developing my own ideas and working on my own comics. “

Me: “Q2: What inspired you to make Woman World?”

Aminder:  “I still have the screenshots of the text messages when I pitched the idea to a couple friends haha. I can’t say exactly what it was, but I do remember coming up with the idea fairly shortly after the Women’s March in 2017. The march was so refreshing, exciting and supportive. Everyone (not just women) had a great time, I loved it. Soon after a couple different friends, and friends of friends posted their signs, t-shirts and banners from the march on social media, and we all  watched an instant backlash from certain types of people online. The idea for Woman World came fairly soon after, I never wanted it to be preachy or forcing any sort of message. Just a cute, tongue-in-cheek feminist comic.”

Me: “Q3:What is your vision for Woman World going forward?”

Aminder: I have a long form version. I will probably have to take a break from the Instagram version to focus on it. There are a few other things I’m trying to do with Woman World as well – but I’m afraid I can’t mention them.

Me: “Q4: Do you have some other projects in the works?”

Aminder: ” I have a couple other mini-comics, some are roughed, some are just ideas. I’ll also probably get back pitching to Children’s TV networks at some point.”

Me: “Q5: If given the choice, would you become an animal? If so, what animal would you become?”

Aminder: “A sloth, I think they’ve got things figured out pretty well.”

Me: “Q6: Finally, what message do you want to send to those reading to inspire them?”

Aminder: ” If you want to make stuff, make it. It took me a long to time to figure out what my voice is, but it would have taken longer if I didn’t make more stuff. Since putting out more comics and getting a good reception I’ve become more confident in what I’m trying to say and my own creative voice and how it differs from others.”

I hope readers liked learning more about you! I sure did!!

I WANT to publish more interviews on this site. So, please let me know on twitter or email me if you have any idea as to who I might interview next!

Keep up the hard work and being creative!

Dear Pascalle Lepas,

There is a lot of weird and crazy stuff happening in…

And I am loving it! Your story is really great because the characters feel real and the situations are fantastical!! I love the classic protagonist (Oscar Wilde) coming to a town he doesn’t know and getting more that he bargained for.  I really love all the complicated and interesting characters Oscar meets as well.  Sylvia Snyder is my favorite so far! She is so sweet and a great companion to Oscar. I’m sure she makes him feel a little at ease in such a bizarre town! Yet, I have been worried about her lately…

I am so giddy about the classical literature and Native American mythology references you make in this comic! They aren’t over done and you put a unique twist to them. And I really enjoy the imagery of the action scenes you create and how you move the story along through your drawings. You show more sometimes rather than tell. I think that takes great skill and is amazing. I really enjoy your art style as well. AND the writing is great!!

I can not wait to see more with the werewolf buddy and the blue rose witch! And I can not wait to see what mysterious and horrific things happen next!

Keep up the hard work and being creative!

Dear Michelle Czajkowski,

I’m glad I got a chance to finally read…

Your comic feels like a moving, motion picture! I read that your goal is to make the comic read like a color script for a movie! Well, YOU HAVE DONE IT! Seriously, you make the character’s movement seem fluid and realistic page by page. During intense scenes the pages seem to go by faster or maybe I just click faster. Either way, you’re great at making things move along.

You’re skilled at capturing the true feeling and emotions of your characters as related to their ages. This may be attributed to the fact you began writing this story at a young age, but also I just think you’re an awesome writer and artist. Character seem, act, and emote as expected in their unlikely situation. Their feelings and reactions are so realistic and literally drawn all over their faces! Everything is so detailed and thought out! AND OH! The colors and line work and drawing and all the artistic elements are really just Ah-MA-ZING! Colors especially on point.

I can tell you work really hard on Ava’s Demon and have been working on the story for a long time. I think your rich and personal connection with the work is super special and beautiful. I really admire your style and am kinda jealous. You are really dedicated to this story and it shows. I can not wait to meet more demons, see more pacts, and see what happens next in the Titan HQ!

Please, keep up the hard work and being creative.

Dear Sarah Goetter,

A wonderful wizardy comic is…

Boozle is such an awesome and cute story. I really love the all-age content and hilarious moments between the characters. Boozle and Bitsy make a great team! Boozle’s grumpiness and Bitsy’s enthusiastic nature make them a super funny pair! I love the video game like quest troupes! “Help my son is missing!”

You have an adorable and expressive art style. Your line work and colors really make the characters stand out! I really like Bitsy’s pink and Boozle’s blue! I am currently catching up with the up-dates, but so far I am really loving this duo!

(Update: I have read up to the most current up-date! Wow! What wacky hijinks! I can not wait for more! 03/16/17)

Keep up the hard work and being creative!

Dear Ryan Andrews,

I’m seriously spooked and delighted by

Image result for nothing is forgotten ryan andrews Nothing is Forgotten and Other Short Stories by YOU!

I first read Sarah and the Seed and was scared that something seriously dangerous would happen. The psychological and emotional reactions the characters had to their odd situation built up suspense in a great way. I was pleasantly surprised by the ending! So beautifully done. It’s like her wishes for a big family where all put in one literal seed!

You other stories have similar grim and disturbing themes. Yet, the story lines lean toward to optimistic. Even though things might seem scary and unknown, everything turns out okay or at least normal. I really enjoy your intriguing plots and how you beautifully illustrate them! I mean… the art is really great! I really love the subtle colors and texture in your comic. The line work and character design is awesome as well! You have a very expressive and fun style.

I am very inspired by your work and the fact that you are living in Japan! Living in Japan is a dream of mine!! I’ll have to email you to talk more about it!
Keep up the hard work and being creative!
