Which is an amazingly hilarious feminist comic set in a world where all men are extinct. It’s great.

I love Woman World so much that I asked Aminder Dhaliwal to do a little email interview with me! And she did! Which is awesome and I am so thankful she took the time to answer my questions!

So, here is the interview:

Me: “Thank you so much for taking the time to answer some of my questions! I have been very inspired by your comic on Instagram called “Woman World” and wanted to get to know you better!

Q1: Tell me about yourself! Your background and a bit about the journey to becoming YOU.”

Aminder: “I went to Sheridan College (Oakville, Canada) for Animation. I knew I wanted to work in animation and the Sheridan curriculum allowed me to make a few student films. Students were also required to do internships for credits. In my senior year, Nickelodeon recruiters came to visit and advertise their production internships. I applied and after a few interviews I got the spot. I went over to Nickelodeon for the summer of 2011. I showed my student films around eventually (it was on the final day of my internship) got asked to take a storyboard test for an upcoming artist position. I flew back to Canada, took the test, sent it back and got the job. I moved out to LA in the fall of 2011 and stayed at Nickelodeon for 5ish years.  I learned so much at Nickelodeon. Nick has a great studio culture. I worked on Fairly Odd Parents, Robot and Monster, Sanjay and Craig and a new show coming out in 2018 as well as many mini projects in between. After that I moved over to Cartoon Network and have been directing on a new project for the last several months. Although I’m happy to have worked on popular shows, I’m happiest developing my own ideas and working on my own comics. “

Me: “Q2: What inspired you to make Woman World?”

Aminder:  “I still have the screenshots of the text messages when I pitched the idea to a couple friends haha. I can’t say exactly what it was, but I do remember coming up with the idea fairly shortly after the Women’s March in 2017. The march was so refreshing, exciting and supportive. Everyone (not just women) had a great time, I loved it. Soon after a couple different friends, and friends of friends posted their signs, t-shirts and banners from the march on social media, and we all  watched an instant backlash from certain types of people online. The idea for Woman World came fairly soon after, I never wanted it to be preachy or forcing any sort of message. Just a cute, tongue-in-cheek feminist comic.”

Me: “Q3:What is your vision for Woman World going forward?”

Aminder: I have a long form version. I will probably have to take a break from the Instagram version to focus on it. There are a few other things I’m trying to do with Woman World as well – but I’m afraid I can’t mention them.

Me: “Q4: Do you have some other projects in the works?”

Aminder: ” I have a couple other mini-comics, some are roughed, some are just ideas. I’ll also probably get back pitching to Children’s TV networks at some point.”

Me: “Q5: If given the choice, would you become an animal? If so, what animal would you become?”

Aminder: “A sloth, I think they’ve got things figured out pretty well.”

Me: “Q6: Finally, what message do you want to send to those reading to inspire them?”

Aminder: ” If you want to make stuff, make it. It took me a long to time to figure out what my voice is, but it would have taken longer if I didn’t make more stuff. Since putting out more comics and getting a good reception I’ve become more confident in what I’m trying to say and my own creative voice and how it differs from others.”

I hope readers liked learning more about you! I sure did!!

I WANT to publish more interviews on this site. So, please let me know on twitter or email me if you have any idea as to who I might interview next!

Keep up the hard work and being creative!

Dear Sarah Goetter,

A wonderful wizardy comic is…

Boozle is such an awesome and cute story. I really love the all-age content and hilarious moments between the characters. Boozle and Bitsy make a great team! Boozle’s grumpiness and Bitsy’s enthusiastic nature make them a super funny pair! I love the video game like quest troupes! “Help my son is missing!”

You have an adorable and expressive art style. Your line work and colors really make the characters stand out! I really like Bitsy’s pink and Boozle’s blue! I am currently catching up with the up-dates, but so far I am really loving this duo!

(Update: I have read up to the most current up-date! Wow! What wacky hijinks! I can not wait for more! 03/16/17)

Keep up the hard work and being creative!

Dear Reza Farazmand,

I’m giggling over…

Your webcomic is just so hilarious! I love your unique way of drawing and your slightly sad humor. Your reoccurring characters are so fun and adorable. I really enjoy the bear and duck combo! What I like best about your comics is that they are short and sweet, like a little treat!

What I truly love about your work is that you clearly put a lot of your own personality and special sense of humor into it. You haven’t tried to do the same old troupes that a lot of comic artist fall into. You try to make things your own and that makes your comics super special!

Keep up the hard work and being creative!

Dear Chris Harding,

I was instantly in love with…

The art is just so cute and the jokes just so true (but sad!) I love how the robots are so relatable and Bob is so orange. My favorite parts are when Bob is working at the office. So many great office jokes! It’s just a fun comic and exciting to read. You never quite know where a joke might go. I love that unpredictability!

Your art style is similar to a collage! Little paper all glued together. Yet, I can’t figure out if you use traditional media or digital! Either way the characters are stunning and cute! What fun, unique robots!

Keep up the hard work and being creative!

Dear Kazerad,

I am on an emotional roller coaster that is called…

I love this kitty adventure tale! I really like the reader interactive comments that help drive the story. I super love the style and characters. The way the main character deals with friendship and work leads to some awesome humor. She portrays her anxiety in an exaggerated, but relatable way. Her awkwardness and naïve personality make her super cuddly.

I’ve really enjoyed following along with the story and seeing all the reoccurring characters. My favorite side character has to be the highwayman. What a true and honest businessman he is! Honestly, I know barely anything about Elder Scrolls. But, oh well! This is just a great adventure comic (interactive story?) and I really enjoy it!! And the animations and mini-games *mwah* take the cake! Cherry on top!

Keep up the hard work and being creative!

Dear Les McClaine,

I am extremely curious to see what is going to happen next in…

Image result for jonny crossbones comic JONNY CROSSBONES: DEAD MAN AT DEVIL’S COVE!

I have really enjoyed reading through your work! It is extremely compelling and I genuinely want to read it for hours. The fact the Jonny and Gretchen are living out this legacy created by the adventurers before them is just so awestruck-ingly awesome. Your story is really exciting and action packed!! I love that your characters are traveling to find these clues, Jonny is always missing work, and there are these criminals fighting them every step on the way.

I just adore adventure stories like Jonny Crossbones with characters who go on adventures for the sake of it. Jonny has to be my favorite boy adventurer so far that I’ve seen! Without a doubt! I love his skeleton design and his gloves! He is just a well designed and really well thought-out main character. The world around Jonny is really well planned and drawn as well. The style you draw in is a perfect fit for the story. It really leads itself well to the iconic adventure tale. Reminds me a lot of the stories I read growing up and I really enjoy that nostalgia.

Anyways, I’m sitting on the edge of my seat waiting to find out if Jonny is going to get fired from his job!

Keep up the hard work and being creative!

Dear Lizz Lunney,

I lovelove… and its weird and wonderful webcomics.

Your comics are so fun and funny! And your characters have the best expressions and I love how you draw animals! Golly! I really enjoyed your most recent comic/ quiz, “Obsessed with Ducks?” I read through and I got “it could be worse.” I’m not too obsessed I guess.  You also have amazing comics in your portfolio as well! Your “Comic a Day June” is super funny spectacular.

The way you draw animals and characters with a distinct style is really unique! I love their long limbs and little faces!! You’ve made your characters mostly just paper white and I really enjoy how you use color in the background to make them pop. Also, I just think the lack of human characters in your comic is super great. I love seeing lanky animals doing funny things. I just love it!

Keep up the hard work and being creative!
